Elizabeth Filippouli

Elizabeth Filippouli has worked with international media outlets and global corporations for more than 15 years. She studied Strategy and Innovation in Said Business School of Oxford University and Transnational Media & Globalisation in London City University.

In 2008 Elizabeth created We Media, a UK-based media and strategic communications company, where she successfully designed and implemented corporate, branding and financial communication strategies and media relations.

In 2010 Elizabeth launched Globeez, an Internet business designed to focus on trade between emerging markets and the developed world by acting as conduit for business and communication. She managed Globeez’s transformation from a vague concept in 2007 to an extremely sophisticated platform by achieving a number of high-profile partnerships with Thomson Reuters, PR NewsWire, Rocketseed, Straightline and Africa 24, and also recruited and managed various teams around the world.

Elizabeth also coordinated the creation of European Commission proposals for E-Governance and E-Business (“Creation Of A Business Community Network To Promote SMEs, Professionals And Innovation Through New Technologies”).

As a journalist, Elizabeth has been a member of the Al Jazeera English launch team based in Doha (Qatar) and presenter of AJE’s flagship programs “People & Power” and “Witness.” For AJE she produced a number of documentaries, such as “Greek gate,” “Italy gate,” “A King Without a Country” and the factual series “Crossroads Europe,” a project focusing on the changing nature of European societies. She also worked with CNN International for six years as a contributor, regularly reporting for CNN on Greek affairs and breaking news in Greece. Interviews have included Ted Turner, James Rubin, Dr Deepak Chopra, Mohamed El Baradei, Chris Cramer, Al Gore, Susan Sarandon, Lord George Robertson, Christianne Amanpour, Peter Arnett, King Constantine of Greece, and Lord Sebastian Coe.
